Proposed designs for the new Children's Emergency Department have been unveiled this week. The Palmerston North Hospital Foundation, who are funding the project, also announced that they hope to get builders in by Christmas.

A recently launched fundraising drive for a Children’s ED at Palmerston North Hospital is being supported by parents throughout the region. With an average of 650 children under the age of 17 attending Palmerston North ED each month, many families have first-hand experience of the need, including Palmerston North mum, Ellie Guest.

The Horowhenua New Zealand Trust has donated $50,000 towards a Children’s Emergency Department within Palmerston North Hospital to support Horowhenua families seeking urgent medical care.
