Your support helps to spread the word

Every conversation about our cause starts somewhere - let it start with you.

When people see fundraising efforts in their community, it can inspire them to get involved, donate, and talk about it with others.

The more people who know about the work the Foundation does, the more opportunities we have to improve health outcomes for our communities.

So, whether it’s a poster in your store, a social media post or a weekend-long fundraiser - every little bit you do now, goes a long way for the future of our region.

Steps to success

  1. Choose your fundraising activity, date and location early. Focus on the fun in fundraising!  We’ve provided some ideas on this page.

  2. Set a meaningful fundraising target. Let us know your goal and what you’re doing by emailing info@pnhospitalfoundation.co.nz

  3. Maximise your fundraising by adding extra activities such as an auction, bake sale or raffle. If it’s appropriate, see if your employer, school, family or friends might support you by matching the dollar value of the donations you raise.

  4. Share your fundraiser on social media, tell your friends and community, and contact local media to share your story. We’ve provided resources in the digital fundraising kit to help you share your why.

  5. Do your research to make sure your fundraiser is safe and legal. Consider all possibilities - the Palmerston North Hospital Foundation is not legally responsible for your fundraiser.

  6. Thank your donors afterwards. Let people know how grateful you are for their support and keep them updated on your progress.

  7. Donate your funds to the Palmerston North Hospital Foundation bank account or by completing an online payment. Email us when you’ve done it and we’ll provide you with a receipt. All eligible donations over $5 qualify for a 33.33% tax credit you can claim with Inland Revenue.

  8. Sign up to receive our Foundation newsletter and stay up to date with the latest. You can subscribe using the email form in the footer of this page.

Fundraising ideas

Different fundraising ideas work for different groups. We’ve provided some ideas below, but if none of these takes your fancy, that’s okay! You may have your own idea for a fundraiser, and we would love to hear about it.

Projects that matter

All of our projects support and enhance healthcare in our community. We primarily focus on significant, long-term initiatives - the kind of transformational change that wouldn’t be possible with just one backer or community organisation behind it. Through our Foundation, big and small donations alike create long-term solutions, rather than quick fixes.

Whenever you donate to us, your funds go towards making projects happen.

We can’t wait to see your fundraising in action. Remember to follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn for updates on our projects and tag us in your fundraising efforts.
