Manawatū Rugby & Foundation Team Up For Children’s Ward Fundraiser

Young creativity is on display this season, as patients from Palmerston North Hospital’s Children’s Ward have teamed up with Manawatū Rugby players to create a special set of limited-edition rugby jerseys.

For the first time, both Turbos and Cyclones players took to the field wearing match jerseys custom-designed by children receiving treatment in the hospital. Even better, both teams won their respective games, and took time to meet with the young designers and their whānau.

The Palmerston North Hospital Foundation donated $2,500 towards the cost of producing these unique jumpers, fully covering the print-run for the Cyclones team. This means that every dollar raised through Manawatū Rugby’s auctions will go toward brand new smart TVs across the Children's Ward - a small way to make someone's stay that little bit easier.

This auction is a chance to celebrate our local teams while doing some good for the community. The signed jerseys are now live on TradeMe, with new items added throughout September. However, each jersey will only be up for a limited time, so fans of particular players should keep a close eye out.
